Do you realize how crucial it is that you take care of your teeth!?!? Not only is having a perfect smile vital to appear friendly, but it’s also one of the most important aspects of your body!
Too many people ignore or take their oral health for granted. Once your adult teeth are gone…that’s it! Unless you can spend a ridiculous amount of money getting them fixed, you had better take care of your teeth! The junk food that you eat now will haunt you later if you’re not careful.
My name is Mary Land, dental hygiene advocate, and I’m what you’d call “obsessive” when it comes to dental hygiene and care. For as long as I can remember, I would always pretend to brush the teeth of my toys in an attempt to save their oral health. My parents thought that my obsession with teeth was just a “cute phase” that I would grow out of eventually. If only they knew how wrong they were about their daughter.
Now, I’m in my final year of dental school and eager to start my career. But, how does my love for clean teeth impact my life? Well, for one, I brush my poodle’s teeth at least three times a week. At first, he hated it, but now views it as therapeutic, at least I think he does.
My own set of chompers are brushed anywhere between five and ten times a day; I also floss at least a dozen times a day. My friends think I’m crazy, but I think I’m very sane, if I do say so myself. As I near the end of my dental education, I’ve come to realize that countless children despise brushing their teeth.
One day, one of my professors suggested that I create a blog where I could give tips and tricks to maintain one’s oral health. Being that my professor is somewhat devious, he also suggested that I include horror stories. So now, this site has become a bastion for dental health information and the consequences of poor dental hygiene.
Feel free to contribute to the blog, and remember—your teeth are all that matter!
